About Näringslivets Producentansvar
Näringslivets Producentansvar (Trade Association Packaging Producer Responsibility) is a producer responsibility organisation that helps you as a producer to take your producer responsibility for packaging. We want to increase recycling throughout the chain – join us on the journey towards a more circular society.
We focus on circular material flows and traceable recycling
As a producer responsibility organisation, Näringslivets Producentansvar has the ambition to offer all producers a sustainable and responsible service portfolio for all types of material covered by the regulation. Through carefully selected suppliers of recycling services, such as Swedish Plastic Recycling, we intend to drive development towards circular and traceable material recycling.
We also have a good foundation in our collaborations with contractors and suppliers, which are based on our established infrastructure and our previous experience. This is to contribute in the best way to the Swedish material recycling goals and the goal of reduced littering.
With us, everything goes round
More recycling for your money
We at Näringslivets Producentansvar do not distribute profits. Our focus is that you as a customer should receive as much recycling as possible for your packaging fee.

Background
A new regulation as of 1 November 2023
In June, 2022, the government decided on a new regulation on producer responsibility for packaging. Among other things, the regulation stipulates that all producers must be affiliated with a producer responsibility organisation that is approved by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency from November 1st, 2023.
According to the regulation, the responsibility for the collection of household packaging transferred from the producers to the municipalities on January 1st, 2024, and from 2027 all households must be able to leave their packaging for recycling close to the property; curb side collection. The producers, through their producer responsibility organisations, are still responsible for paying for the collection of packaging and ensuring that the packaging waste material is recycled. With the increased producer responsibility within the EU, the cost for producers, i.e. the packaging fee, will increase sharply in the coming years.
The main purpose of the new regulation is to increase the material recycling of packaging, reduce the amount of packaging and packaging waste and to ensure that packaging waste is handled in a health-related and environmentally acceptable manner.
A new company formed to meet future demands on the extended producer responsibility
Producer responsibility for packaging is facing major changes. The new regulation on the producer responsibility for packaging places new and higher demands on producers, with the aim of achieving a higher degree of material recycling. In order to meet the development, the industry organisations DLF Sweden, Swedish Food Retailers Federation, Swedish Trade Federation, the Swedish Brewers Association and the Spirit and Wine Suppliers Association decided to form a joint company – Näringslivets Producentansvar i Sverige AB. With these organisations as owners, a strong foundation and great opportunities for influence are created for affiliated producers.
Building on long experiences
Näringslivets Producentansvar builds on the expertise and experience that has been developed within Förpackningsinsamlingen, FTI.
Approved producer responsibility organisation
