Helena hands over the role of CEO to Karolina
After just over three years as CEO of the Swedish Business Producer Responsibility (NPA), Helena Nylén is handing over the role to Karolina Hagberg Chinell.During her time as CEO, Helena has been crucial in building up NPA. In a short time, a fully functional business was established, together with the Board of Directors and employees, which today has a turnover of SEK 3.3 billion. Since then, she has successfully developed and consolidated the company, handing over a well–functioning company with stable finances and a robust organization to her successor.
”I am proud of what we have achieved together at NPA. We have developed both our business and our offering during a period when producer responsibility has undergone major changes. I hand over with great confidence and look forward to following NPA’s continued development,” says Helena Nylén.
Karolina Hagberg Chinell is now taking over as CEO of NPA. She takes over at a time when producer responsibility is facing continued change. The EU’s new packaging regulation, PPWR, is now coming into force and the requirements for recycling, packaging design and producer responsibility will be further developed in the coming years. At the same time, Sweden needs to increase both collection and material recycling to make better use of the resources that already exist in society.
”I look forward to taking over as CEO of NPA and together with our employees, producers, owners and partners continue to develop the business. There are great opportunities ahead, but also important challenges to deal with. Our focus will be to continue to build a well–functioning producer responsibility that contributes to increased material recycling and efficient resource utilisation,” says Karolina Hagberg Chinell.
NPA currently has over 10,000 affiliated producers and is Sweden’s largest producer responsibility organisation for packaging.
