During Almedalen week, we held two seminars with Swedish Plastic Recycling and representatives from Återvinningsindustrierna and producers. Both occasions were recorded and the videos are now available on our YouTube-channel.Future changes
The seminar with the headline: ”New ordinance, parallell development and a coming reform” focused on the changes of the producer and collecting responsibility. Main issues were requirements in the ordinance and how the work is to be followed up. The goal of the changes is increased collection and recycling, but how will it work? The Plastic Recycling Paradox
Together with Swedish Plastic Recycling, we held the seminar ”How to solve the Plastic Recycling Paradox”, about how the recycling industry will be able to adjust to producing recycled plastic raw material of higher quality. From 2030 there will be a law that every plastic packaging placed on the European market must contain recycled plastic raw material, but today the recycling industry mainly produces plastic products of low quality. Mattias Philipsson, CEO at Swedish Plastic Recycling, explains the plastic recycling paradox och what is needed for Sweden to reach their climate goals by making plastic a part of the circular economy.
