New legislation, parallel development and an upcoming major social reform – but how is it followed up?
Time: 08.30-09.30
Sweden is facing a major social reform when the collection responsibility for packaging is transferred to the municipalities. The goal is increased collection and recycling, but what requirements are actually set in the legislation, what is possible and ok and how is it followed up? And above all, how can different parties cooperate so that we can achieve the goals together?
How we solve the plastic recycling paradox
Time: 10.00-11.00
From 2030, it is a law that every plastic packaging placed on the European market must contain recycled plastic raw material. That shouldn’t be a problem – if it weren’t for the plastic recycling paradox: there is plenty of plastic in society and the market is crying out for high-quality recycled raw material. But the recycling industry mainly produces low-quality plastic products that cannot be used for plastic packaging. An impossible equation for a circular economy.
Mattias Philipsson explains the plastic recycling paradox and what is required for Sweden to reach its climate goals by making plastic part of the circular economy.
Both seminars are beeing held at Kilgränd 1.
Our CEO Helena Nylén will be present and represent both Näringslivets Producentansvar and FTI. On site is also Henrik Nilsson, CEO of Swedish Producer Responsibility, Mattias Philipsson, CEO of Swedish Plastic Recycling and Magnus Andersson, CEO of Swedish Glass Recycling.
Please get in touch if you want to have a coffee with us, or think that we can contribute in any context that you are in during the week. For example panel debates, seminars, round-table discussions and conversations about issues that connect to our expertise.
